Punkbuster reports PB-Server version is Old

Hi all / admins,

Today, after I updated PB client manually, Paying COD4 on the JointOPS server I was kicked with message "Punkbuster reports PB-Server version is Old".

This problem consists also on other servers.
Looks like PB client was updated, but PB server was not.
Didnt find anything on the subject on evenbalance.com.

I also saw that more players where kicked with the same message.
Reinstalling PB didn't help.

Anyone knows how to resolve this problem?

ok u are right Snake did updated PB, so if u update yours u should be fine, in fact it should update itself automatically once u connect to our server, but it seems yours is not doing so, we all know shit happens lol
so to make it easier on you, and anyone else (3 required my help so far)with PB kick issues, here is a copy of an Updated PB folder, just download and replace yours with this one and u should be good, so for all of you not so technically incline, this is what i mean
download the file from this link, un-rar it, then copy the folder and paste it on this directory C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare, this of course assuming you installed Cod 4 on its default directory, if not, just replace the C:\ for the correct drive letter

i had the same problem profaz and heres how i fixed it...my windows firewall was turned off i was using another firewall and my automatic updates was turned on...so basickly i just turned off automatic update and my firewall the one i was using and turn on windows firewall...somehow my windows firewall was blocking connection with server even they was turned off...and couldnt initialize with pb services...i hope this post will help you at least its how i fixed it...there are some other ways but they are in programers "hackers" domain...something with opening new port in your firewall settings for pb and then copy paste it in activision or program files folder...i did it like i decribe it above but if you prefer other firewall you should do the "hacker" thingy http://www.flyingright.net/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif more about it in pb bans website or http://www.punksbusted.com/forums/lofivers....php/t5776.html (http://www.punksbusted.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t5776.html) same worth for "no packet flow" pb bans...

o yeah pls check one more thing...in your program files>activision>call of duty 4 folder check pb folder and see if theres a PnkBstrB file or just PnkBstrA if its the case u should download that pb folder that Eus posted and upload on filefront website...reason why is so guys from evanbalance staff move some protocol stuff from PnkBstrB to PnkstrA it looks complicated but it isnt lol just download that pb rar folder and try that stuff with firewall...today i actually turned off windows firewall and put it back on nvidia firewall iam using atm i know it sounds funny haha i am not a zone alarm fan http://www.flyingright.net/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Well, I noticed a difference between my PB folder and the one EUS has provided.
PnkbstrA.exe was missing in my folder and a few htm&#39;s to.

So the PB-update did not provide all the needed components.
I think someone was very sleeping on the job in the PB-store, http://www.flyingright.net/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/angry.gif
But then again PB provided 3 updates according to Snakedoctor, so perhaps they are awake again.

Btw, replacing my PB folder with the one of Eus has provided, has done the trick for me.
I can play COD again.
